100 years of synthetic rubber

This year, a revolutionary invention is celebrating its 100th anniversary.  On September 12, 1909, Fritz Hofmann received a patent for the “industrial production of synthetic rubber.”  His invention brought mobility to the world, and our everyday lives today would be unimaginable without it.  LANXESS is building Hofmann's heritage into a successful future with a portfolio of more than a hundred types of synthetic rubber.
