Dr. Ralph Armbrust was born in Kaiserslautern Germany in 1967. He studied chemistry at the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany between 1986 and 1994, where he also obtained his Ph.D. He was then awarded the post doctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver (Canada) to pursue postdoctoral research from 1995 to 1996.
Dr. Armbrust joined Bayer AG in 1996, working in the first four years in different research departments on silicon process technology and heterogeneous catalysis. In 2000, he was assigned the position as plant manager for the production of polyols and aromatic materials. In 2007, he became process manager for LANXESS’ wholly owned subsidiary Saltigo, responsible for developing and producing pharmaceutical and agrochemical precursors.
Dr. Armbrust was appointed to his current position as Head of Corporate
Development LANXESS Greater China in August 2010.
