Automotive compounds

Baymod® N Baymod® N grades are part of the modifier range of technical rubber products. These powdered nitrile rubbers are compatible with a variety of different base polymers thanks to their chemical and physical property profile.
Baypren®Baypren® is a family of chloroprene rubber with diverse applications due to its attractive combination of key technical properties. It is the name of the LANXESS range of polymers based on 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene (chloroprene), which are manufactured by water-based emulsion polymerization in the presence of emulsifiers, activators etc.
Buna EP® Provided that the compounds are formulated and processed correctly, the vulcanizates have excellent resistance to weathering and ozone, good to very good aging resistance and low temperature flexibility, low electrical conductivity and satisfactory resistance to polar chemicals.
Levapren®Levapren® (EVM) is a specialty rubber, that can cope with the growing demands of the cable and construction industry as well as the automotive industry.
Perbunan®Perbunan® is a fast curing NBR rubber. Used for the manufacture of oil resistant technical rubber articles with excellent cost/performance ratio.
Therban®Therban® is LANXESS high-performance specialty elastomer, specially designed for demanding applications requiring exceptional durability in aggressive environments. Therban performs well in extreme temperatures, fuel, oil, ozone, and abrasion.
Vulkacit® Vulkacit® Vulcanization is the conversion of a high-molecular material from the plastic to the elastic state. One of the key chemical reactions in this process is that of rubber with sulfur. Sulfur vulcanization, widely used in the rubber industry, requires the use of vulcanization accelerators such as Vulkacit®.
Vulkanox®Vulkanox® Aging processes, which are caused by oxygen or heat, change the properties of the vulcanizates.
Vulkanol®Vulkanol® synthetic plasticizers are required as active ingredients to adjust the properties of vulcanizates, for example, to reduce hardness, modulus and tensile strength or to increase ultimate elongation and resilience.
Vulcuren® Vulcuren® is a new crosslinker for the production of highly reversion-stable vulcanisates of NR, IR, SBR and BR and their blends.
Vulkazon®Ozone is one of the most powerful oxidizing agents and attacks most organic compounds. This includes elastomeric materials where the service life and product quality can be affected by relatively low ozone concentrations. 
Renacit®Natural rubber is masticated to improve processing. By breaking down the molecular chain the polymer viscosity is reduced.
Vulkalent®Vulkalent® retarders adjust the vulcanization rate and increase scorch and flow times of sulfur-cured diene rubber compounds.
Zinkoxyd AktivLANXESS zinc oxides are precipitated to offer a rather small range of particle size combined with a high surface area. On top these products are characterized by a very low heavy metal content.
Cohedur®Cohedur® bonding agents promote adhesion between elastic rubber and inelastic-but-durable material such as reinforcing carcasses or steel cords, which are combined to make long-lasting tires, conveyor belts, hoses, rubberized fabrics, containers, etc.
Durethan®Durethan® is the trade name for our range of engineering thermoplastics based on polyamide 6 and polyamide 66.

Tires and inner liners

Vulkacit® Vulkacit® Vulcanization is the conversion of a high-molecular material from the plastic to the elastic state. Sinlica AdditiveSilica as filler in rubber compounds has become more and more important in rubber compounding especially in tyre application to reduce rolling resistance, but processing of silica compounds is problematic due to the higher compound viscosity in comparison to carbon black filled compounds.

Bromobutyl®LANXESS halobutyl rubbers (LANXESS Bromobutyl and LANXESS Chlorobutyl) are produced by reacting bromine, or chlorine, with butyl rubber in a continuous process.
Butyl®Butyl rubbers are copolymers of isobutylene with small amounts of isoprene. The incorporation of isoprene creates double bonds allowing vulcanization with sulfur and other agents.
Chlorobutyl®LANXESS halobutyl rubbers (LANXESS Bromobutyl and LANXESS Chlorobutyl) are produced by reacting bromine, or chlorine, with butyl rubber in a continuous process.
Buna® CB
Polybutadiene rubbers are highly elastic and have a very high degree of resistance to dynamic stress, and retain these properties even at extremely low temperatures.
Buna® SE
The Buna SE product group of LANXESS comprises the general purpose emulsion styrene-butadiene rubbers (E-SBR) which is one of the most important types of synthetic rubber.
Buna® VSL
Buna VSL portfolio offers solution styrene-butadiene rubbers that have different styrene and vinyl levels combined with varying Mooney viscosities.
