LANXESS runs the largest research and development center for leather products in Wuxi and offers customers in the region technical know-how, development experience, technical service and knowledge of market and fashion trends in the leather processing industry.

LANXESS Semi-Crystalline Products operates a R&D Center for high-tech plastics in Wuxi.  It offers new product inspection and tailor-made solutions and better service to the local and international customers.  

In 2008 the Material Protection Products business unit has opened a microbiology test lab in Wuxi to provide high quality service to Chinese manufactures of products such as paints, polymer emulsions, glues and adhesives, mineral slurries and construction chemicals.
