LANXESS (Wuxi) Chemical Company Ltd. is a wholly foreign owned subsidiary of specialty chemicals group LANXESS AG.  It is located at the Wuxi National High & New Tech Industrial Development Zone, with total investment of USD 43.3 million and employees 300.  The company produces chemical products for leather processing, textile additives and engineering plastics with annual output 62,000 MT.

LANXESS’s largest and the most modernized leather R&D center was invested and built up in Wuxi in 1997, following by the completion of two other buildings containing plants for synthesizing and spray-drying tanning agents at end of 2003.  LANXESS Wuxi started the tanning agent expansion project in 2005 and the new laboratory was put into operation.  Meanwhile, LANXESS AG built Semi-Crystalline Products Research and Development Testing Center in Wuxi for new product inspection and tailor-made solutions and better service to the local and international customers.  In 2008, LANXESS has also successfully started operations of its microbiology laboratory in Wuxi, to provide high quality service to Chinese manufactures of products such as paints, polymer emulsions, glues and adhesives, mineral slurries and construction chemicals.

LANXESS Wuxi was certified by ISO9001 quality management and quality assurance system certification in March 2001 and passed the ISO14000 environment management system certification in 2002.  In 2008, the Semi-Crystalline Products Research and Development Testing Center at LANXESS Wuxi passed the most rigorous DAP ISO 17025 certification.
