LANXESS announced winners of LANXESS-PASCH-sponsorship 2012

Shanghai – Specialty chemicals group LANXESS announced three winners of the LANXESS Sponsorship for Students of Goethe-Partner schools in China (LANXESS-PASCH-sponsorship) for 2012.


The winners are selected out of outstanding Chinese students learning German at the Goethe-partner schools in China with an intention to go to German universities after high school graduation. Each of the winners will receive a tailored package of sponsorship, including German language courses at Goethe Institute as well as cost take-over in the amount of more than CNY 12,000


“I feel so lucky to be enrolled in the sponsorship program and I am grateful to LANXESS and Goethe Institut,” said 18-year-old Shi Yuqing, one of the winners and going for finances or statistics study in Germany. “It's well-known that the quality of university education in German is pretty good. Therefore I'm eager to continue my study in Germany to learn professional knowledge as well as know more about German society and culture.”


The other two students are Wu Wenjia, who wishes to study business at Köln University, and Fan Xiaoyan with the goal of Chemistry major at Heidelberg University.


This is the second consecutive year that LANXESS presents the sponsorship since it entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the German Cultural Center Beijing – Goethe Institute China in 2011. The sponsorship program is aimed at suppporting excellent Chinese students who intend to start a university course in natural sciences in Germany by providing language courses with focus on university life and fulfilling language-preconditions to enrolment.

LANXESS has launched a series of educational initiatives to help encourage and grow local talents. In 2009, LANXESS entered into cooperation with Qingdao University of Science and Technology to join forces in R&D and staff training for the rubber industries. In 2011, LANXESS started collaboration with Changzhou Institute of Engineering Technology to build a vocational and occupational training center.
