LANXESS at the Qingdao International Rubber & Tyre Industry Exhibition

LANXESS to Showcase its Premium Solutions at Qingdao International Rubber & Tyre Industry Exhibition

German specialty chemicals company LANXESS AG is once again bringing its premium and innovative products to Qingdao International Rubber & Tyre Industry Exhibition, from April 8 to 10, 2010, at the Qingdao International Convention Center.  The LANXESS Technical Rubber Products business unit will showcase its specialty elastomers and solutions for the rubber processing industry.

Visitors to the booth will learn more about LANXESS’s high-quality and innovative solutions for the rubber processing industry. LANXESS solution has excellent performance on abrasion resistance, heat resistance and resistance to aggressive environmental influences and is widely adopted by an extensive customer base in the automotive, footwear, construction, electronics and domestic appliance industries.

One such product – Therban® – is a high-performance elastomer specially designed for tough applications in the automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment and oil exploration industries.  Another product – Levapren® – is a specialty rubber that can meet the growing demands of the cable and construction industry as well as the automotive industry.
“Thanks to its compatibility with a number of fillers and polymers – and its low viscosity – Levapren® is the perfect solution for a variety of formulation issues encountered when using conventional rubber substances.  And, it can help to significantly improve the property profile of other polymers.” Sweeney Sun, Marketing Manager for Technical Rubber Products business unit in the Asia Pacific region, explained.

Additionally, LANXESS will first bring Nanoprene® to the trade show in China.  It is a rubber additive that plays an important part in environmentally friendly innovations.  Using it in tires improves the distribution of silica fillers in tire treads and leads to fuel economy even while extending service life.  It also has a use in the fuel cell technology that is eventually going to replace the internal combustion engine.

“We create quality specialty products in our Technical Rubber Products business unit that I am convinced are significant to today's industrial needs in China,” Sweeney added.

The Technical Rubber Products business unit is part of the Performance Polymers segment of LANXESS, which recorded sales of EUR 2.39 billion in fiscal year 2009.

LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with sales of EUR 5.06 billion in 2009 and currently around 14,300 employees in 23 countries. The company is represented at 43 production sites worldwide. The core business of LANXESS is the development, manufacturing and marketing of plastics, rubber, intermediates and specialty chemicals.
