LANXESS China Mobility Day

Sustainable technologies for China’s future

Shanghai, July 23, 2012 – Specialty chemicals group LANXESS is organizing a series of “Mobility Days” on various continents in 2012.  The series will be kicked off with the LANXESS China Mobility Day, themed ”sustainable technologies for China’s future” on September 6, 2012 in Hyatt on the Bund Shanghai, China.

The one-day event will address technological innovation and new approaches to sustainable transportation in China. Roughly 300 participants from industry, academia and associations are expected to join. The event starts with a plenary session in the morning, featuring high-profile speakers who will discuss the latest topics and trends in green mobility. In the afternoon, a total of five break-out sessions on topics like green tires, lightweight materials or e-mobility will be open to the audience. At the same time, a green mobility exhibition will highlight the latest automotive technologies, green tires and advances in high-performance materials.

LANXESS products have many applications that are geared towards green mobility. “Mobility related applications already account for our ten best selling products,” says Martin Kraemer, CEO LANXESS Greater China.

China has enormous potential with disposable income increasing and the growing middle classes wanting to become more mobile.  However, with this potential also come some challenges, as this increase in mobility needs to be shaped in a sustainable way.  LANXESS prides itself on being heavily involved in green mobility throughout the value chain, not only in R&D, sourcing raw materials or production but also in increasing eco-consciousness within the society.

“Our focus on Green Mobility is just one of the ways LANXESS is working to make this a greener, more liveable world.  We are pleased to welcome our guests to join our China Mobility day to share many examples of the green technologies we are developing,” says Kraemer.

To provide the general public with detailed information about green mobility, LANXESS has launched the information portal www.green-mobility.cn. The website describes what Green Mobility is and how LANXESS is contributing with its products and technologies. It provides the China Mobility Day program in detail and information in a mix of text and multimedia formats including films and interactive graphics. Photos are also available for download.
