At the ChinaPlas Gala Dinner on 26 April 2006, LANXESS announced its participation in “Project Integration”, a charity program initiated by the German Chamber of Commerce Shanghai to support migrant schools in Shanghai. The 100,000 RMB donation was the largest amount they had ever received for the program. During the ceremony, The Country Representative presented the check on behalf of all LANXESS employees.

The money has recently been transferred to the Minhang Garden School, one of the five schools covered by “Project Integration.”

“Project Integration” is working with public schools that are willing to admit the children of migrant workers and private schools that offer a reasonable standard of teaching. The principals at these schools indicate the pupils most in need of help, because both parents are unemployed or ill, or whose family income is below 500 RMB per month.

The donation from LANXESS will be used to pay tuition, book fees and lunch fees for migrant children who are not entitled to special citizenship benefits such as schooling.
