LANXESS Wins Outstanding Supplier and Responsible Care® Awards

LANXESS won the 2021 AICM Responsible Care® Chairman Award.

Shanghai – July 1, 2021 – German specialty chemicals company LANXESS won the honor of Outstanding Raw Material Supplier of the 12th Gold Award of China Coatings and the 2021 AICM Responsible Care® Chairman Award for its persistence in product quality and active implementation of Responsible Care®.

Winner of Outstanding Raw Material Supplier

The 12th Gold Award of China Coatings Award Ceremony and 2021 China Coatings Company Leaders’ Summit hosted by Chinese and Foreign Coatings Net (CFCN) took place on May 30. Material suppliers with major strengths in basic design, key processes and technologies, product quality and effective supply capacity received commendations during the event. LANXESS won the honor of Outstanding Raw Material Supplier of the 12th Gold Award of China Coatings.


According to the organizing committee, LANXESS has been focusing on the survival and development of coatings companies and providing the most fundamental solutions for building product competitiveness. Moreover, LANXESS has been deeply involved in cost control, environmental protection and energy saving and other links, and working with coatings companies in a win-win manner to build an industrial ecological chain in line with industry development.

Winner of 2021 AICM Responsible Care® Chairman Award

At the 2021 Responsible Care® Award Ceremony hosted by the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM) on June 21, LANXESS won the 2021 AICM Responsible Care® Chairman Award for its outstanding contributions made in the implementation of Responsible Care®.


LANXESS has been actively responding to China’s goal of high-quality development and carbon neutrality. In November 2019, the company announced its goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions from around 3.2 million tons to become climate neutral by 2040. Currently, the company is well on track. Compared with 2019, LANXESS reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 14 percent in 2020.


Adhering to the concept of Good for Business – Good for Society, LANXESS is actively striving to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, LANXESS mobilized global resources to donate 1 ton of Rely+On Virkon concentrate to Hubei Province. Since 2012, LANXESS held a number of “Open-to-Public Day” activities at its production sites in Changzhou, Wuxi, Qingdao and Liyang, sharing environmental protection and safety knowledge with the public through safety classes, chemistry classes, plant tours, and the donation of chemical kits. Over the past ten years, LANXESS launched a number of education initiatives for students of primary and middle schools and universities in China, including scholarships, chemical kits donations, the LANXESS-PASCH dream career program, and the Clean Water for Better Life University Students Research Competition. In addition, LANXESS set up a charity primary school in Suichuan, Jiangxi Province, and is making donations annually toward infrastructure construction, educational condition improvement, and awards for outstanding students.
